~Your Outdoor Event Planning~
Including Port-a-Potty Rentals
Planning an outdoor event includes a multitude of logistics that, absolutely, must align in order for the event to flow, seamlessly. Though indoor events have their place, outdoor gatherings add a new dimension of fun where guests can feel more relaxed in an environment where sunshine and fresh air add a sense of giddiness and lightheartedness ? attendees forget the worries of their world and feel more prone to optimally socialize with those around them. In fact, Dr. David Strayer, a cognitive psychologist at the University of Utah, says that connecting with the outdoors allows the human brain to dial down and go into more of a rest-mode, even when outdoor activities are exciting and simulating.
That's a good thing to know for guests who will be attending an outdoor event you have in mind. If you are the one planning the outdoor event, however, it can feel overwhelming having to coordinate all the details: parking spaces, food and drink locations, adequate seating, safety measures, and, of course, the personal needs of all the guests ? this is where port-a-potties can make their grand entrance! Though port-a-potties may be viewed as unsung heroes on any given day, when they are present during outdoor festivities, they become extremely coveted and very much appreciated!
Regardless of how casual your outdoor event may be; your guests will thank-you for having port-a-potties on-hand to offer sanitation, convenience, safety, and privacy. Having port-a-potties in close proximity may serve a primal necessity, yet, their presence generates a huge dose of guest appreciation!
Things to Consider
Whenever you might be ready to call ChemCan for information concerning our port-a-potties, keep the following information in mind when determining how many units your event would require:
1. The Size of the Crowd: The minimum requirement for portable restrooms is set at 1 unit/100 guests/up to 4 hours. This ratio is a general calculation; and other factors would change the number of units required.
2. More Women than Men: It's a good idea to be pro-active and study the guest list to determine how many more women will be in attendance, than men. It's an established fact that women visit restrooms more often than men and they remain in restrooms longer than men, for a variety of reasons. This, in turn, can create longer wait lines unless additional port-a-potties are included at an event. According to researchers at Ghent University in Belgium, women will take 1.5 to 2 times as long in the restroom as men do. For events that are 'ladies-only' gatherings, such as a women's retreat for example, renting extra port-a-potties would be wise.
3. Serving Alcohol: Anyone who has every enjoyed several drinks in a fairly short amount of time knows that restroom visits become more frequent when alcohol is consumed. If most of the attendees will be drinking, one should calculate 3 port-a-potty units for every 100 guests for events after 4 hours. UCLA Medical Center states that alcohol is a diuretic and acts on the kidneys to generate noticeably- increased restroom visits.
4. Length of the Event: It's predictable: the longer the event, the more often guests will require the use of restroom facilities. If your event will last longer than 4 hours, one should figure 2 port-a-potties for every 100 people.
