Portable Toilet Rental Checklist

Here's Your Portable Toilet Rental Checklist!

Anyone who has, ever, planned an outdoor event knows, very well, the number of logistics that go into the preparations.  Outdoor events are loved by those who feel giddy when attending farmers' markets, carnivals, block parties, large family celebrations, music festivals, kids sports events, and more.  All of those types of events have one very important thing, in common:  the need for portable toilets!

The sanitation crisis that is plaguing some major California cites including Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles where homeless individuals are using streets and sidewalks to relieve themselves 24/7, is testimony to how sanitation becomes critically compromised when toilets are not readily available.  In these cities, disease is on the rise and so are rat populations.  It offers a stark reminder of how vitally important toilet facilities are, whether indoor varieties or portable options.

With that being said, if you are planning an outdoor event, you'll want portable toilets to be available for all your guests, at a moment's notice.  Below, is a Portable Toilet Rental Checklist and though it is not exhaustive, it highlights some very important things to keep in mind:

1.  Analyze Your Ambiance

What is the 'feel' of your event?  The ambiance of your event should dictate the type of portable toilet choice that would make the most sense and align with guests' expectations and needs.  If your event is of the carnival, fund-raising, farmers' market variety, you can expect masses of people!  These events are conducive to basic porta-potties that can be cleaned by Chem Can's service techs on a daily basis for multi-day events.

If your event will be celebrating a milestone anniversary, a 21st birthday bash, a bachelor/bachelorette celebration, or a bar mitzvah, a more upscale version of portable toilet would be very appropriate.  Chem Can has very-affordable portable toilets with flushing commodes that make one's restroom experience that much more enjoyable.

If your plans include a stunning outdoor wedding, a swank pool-side cocktail party, or a corporate picnic, Chem Can's top-of-the-line luxury restroom trailers would add a host of amenities including flushing toilets, separate entrances for men & women, AC & heat, beautiful cabinetry, vanities with mirrors/sinks & running water, and more!

2.  Know the Numbers

The last thing you want is for too-few portable toilets to lead to too-many guests waiting in line!  You can use our handy on-line guide to help you determine how many units your event would require.  You can, also, give our office a call and we will be happy to assist with the calculating, right over the phone.

It's important to keep in mind that the number of anticipated attendees is only the beginning determiner when calculating how many portable toilets you would need.  You'll want to take into account the duration of the event, if there will be more women attending than men, and if alcohol will be served.  Also, if the weather will be hot, guests will consume far more liquids which will generate more bathroom visits.

Within just a few minutes, we can help you determine how many portable toilets would be ideal for
your outdoor gathering.

3.  Track the Temps

You will, definitely, want to stay abreast of what the weather might throw your way on the day or days of your event.  If your event will be held during hotter or colder times of the year, don't let the temperatures discourage you!  Chem Can has an array of luxury restroom trailers that provide refreshing AC and soothing heat.   Even if you choose Chem Can's portable toilets without AC or heat, die-hard event-goers won't let that stop them from having fun!

4.  Cater to Needs

If people with physical challenges are expected at your event, wheel-chair accessible or ADA-compliant units must be made available.  Chem Can offers wheel-chair accessible portable toilets with thoughtfully-designed features to ensure maximized safety and ease-of-maneuverability.  ADA regulations state that you must provide one standard wheelchair-accessible portable toilet for every ten standard portable restroom units.

5.  Plan for Proper Placement

Without exception, all portable toilets need to be placed on solid, flat surfaces in order to be serviced and to be used, safely.  Paved surfaces are ideal, but flat, stable ground works well, too.  Regardless of where your portable toilets might be placed, vandals and pranksters get their kicks by attempting to tip over portable toilets.  Don't let that happen to you – prop portable toilets up against a building or wall, in a row.  This will make it less desirable for trouble-makers to plan their covert activities.  Portable toilets can, also, be tightly staked to the ground to prevent tip-overs from not just pranksters, but from high winds.

Also, if your event will continue into night hours, be sure your portable toilets are in a well-lit area to allow them to be visually obvious and to enhance safety for users.

6.  Give Chem Can a Call

To ensure you have all your bases covered, give Chem Can a call.  We will be happy to answer any of your questions and give you a quick run-down of the types of portable toilets we have available.

Positive restroom experiences at your event gives word-of-mouth advertising one more opportunity to compliment your event's cleanliness, organization, and overall feel.  Portable toilets don't just provide comfort and convenience, they have their own way of enhancing your reputation!
