Construction Sites and Porta Poty Rentals

Different Types of Construction Sites that Need Porta-Potties

Most people are not aware that US laws mandate that construction sites provide portable toilets, of one type or another, at all times.  Rules regarding gender-specific porta-potties, the ratio of porta-potties to the number of construction employees, and other regulations ensure construction sites provide and maintain a sanitary workplace as well as ensuring the surrounding areas and neighborhoods are safe from the spread of harmful pathogens.

These unsung heroes make their way into a host of different types of construction locations, including:

Oil-Field Sites

Employees at oil-field sites know the importance of remaining on schedule and on budget.  Having easy-access to porta-potties, at a moment's notice, keeps employees on-task, efficiently.  Having porta-potties delivered on time and, regularly, maintained is extremely important.  Not only is sanitation enhanced and illnesses reduced, but the morale of employees is positively impacted as well.  Employees appreciate it when supervisors have thought of their personal needs, ahead of time, and make sure the facilities are kept clean.

Porta-potties, along with hand-washing stations, help to combat germs and keep a healthier work environment.  By helping to minimize the use of 'sick days', oil-field operations involving exploration, drilling, fracturing, and production can stay more on schedule!

Offshore Oil-Rig Sites

Offshore oil-rig sites are rough environments, and it is, here, where employees live for a predetermined amount of time.  Having on-site porta-potties available, continuously, is a must due to the prolonged presence of the workers.

These enormous rigs drill into the earth's crust for miles where a fortune in untapped petroleum deposits are waiting to be turned into immense amounts of cold, hard cash.  Being 65 miles offshore means going home, daily, would not be practical, nor cost-efficient.  The men and women on these rigs call these floating albatrosses 'Home Sweet Home' with 14 days at sea and 14 days back at shore.  The stackable living/sleeping quarters are made of fiberglass and steel, and are designed for privacy, comfort and blast protection.

The porta-potties on board off-shore platforms are blast-resistant, as well, and are self-contained units that include flushing toilets, urinals, and sinks with running water.  These buoyant rigs carry their own set of dangers, and because of that, the on-board bathrooms offer stocked emergency eye-wash solutions, 10-minute air-packs, survival wraps, fire extinguishers, and other safety-related items.  The employees who work on offshore oil rigs are tough, and so are the bathrooms ? they need to be!

Commercial and Residential Sites

No matter where you live, construction sites can't be avoided.  They make their presence known in residential neighborhoods, school settings, mall locations ? wherever!  Again, maintaining sanitation and preventing the spread of diseases are issues that must be addressed.  Porta-potties are kept well-maintained in these locations for three important reasons:  1) to meet state and federal requirements for site sanitation 2) for the health and safety of workers and 3) for aesthetics.  Clients, engineers, inspectors, and architects will, predictably, visit to check on a project's progress.  Having porta-potties continually clean and sanitized signals to any visitor that professionalism, attention to detail, and job-site health & safety are priorities.

High-Rise Sites

As a construction worker, when you are multiple stories above the ground, taking the time to make your way to ground level to use a porta-potty would be a waste of valuable time.  The ingenious and highly-efficient solution, to this, lies with high-rise porta-potties.  These porta-potties are, easily, raised with steel lifting hoists attached to massive cranes.  These air-borne porta-potties can be safely maneuvered to any floor of a building, under construction.  You don't go to the porta-potties; you let them come to you!

Road, Bridge and Tunnel Sites

Not every construction site allows for porta-potties to be safely positioned on the ground ? road, bridge, and tunnel-construction sites would be examples of venues where adaptations with porta-potty placement comes in to play.  As they say, Necessity is the mother of invention, and that is true here.  With these types of construction sites, porta-potties are placed on top of vehicles that follow the road construction crews.
